Objective I
- More efficient provision of disaster – resilient water supplies to vulnerable communities
Establishment demonstration RWH systems in schools
31 schools were visited and assessed out of which 18 schools were selected from Badulla, Monaragala and Kilinochchi districts. A total of 7724 will have access to clean drinking water through RWHS.
17 awareness programs were conducted. 1133 teachers and parents were made aware on RWH and its benefits.
663 teachers and students were trained through the 16 O&M programs conducted.

Construction of 120 Domestic Rain Water Harvesting Systems
152 households selected for 8000L RWHs to be installed out of 408 applicants from Moneragala,Kilinochchi and Badulla Districts. 152 householders will have access for clean drinking water.
134 beneficiaries participated in the 6 awareness programs conducted in Kilinochchi, Monaragala and Badulla districts.
147 beneficiaries were trained through the 12 O&M programs that were conducted in Badulla, Moneragala and Kiinochchi districts.
Rehabilitate 100 disused RWH Systems
100 disused RWHs repaired. 677 beneficiaries will have access to safe drinking water.
22 Beneficiaries were made aware on importance of RWH and rehabilitating the RWHs through 2 awareness programs that were conducted in Badulla and Moneragala Districts.
Objective II
- Strengthened capacity of disaster – prone communities and institutionalization of DRR policies and practices related flood and drought management
Build capacity of officials and professionals on rain water harvesting technology
55 professionals were trained on RWH and GWR through the program held on 14th , 15th and 16th March 2019 at Rain Center Pelwatta, which included a field visit to Millennium IT to learn their rain water conservation and management methods and also sewerage management system.
Research and development
19 Rain Water recharge wells related data collected and monitored in Badulla and Kilinochchi districts.
